Want to get treated for menopause symptoms? Your Evernow healthcare provider will learn about your unique health background and design a custom treatment plan based on the most up-to-date medical guidance. You can ask us to send the medication to your preferred pharmacy if your insurance covers hormone therapy (most do) and/or your pharmacist can offer a discount coupon. Or choose Evernow home delivery when you’re paying out-of-pocket to make this option more convenient and affordable.
If you do choose to get treatment, you will likely see results within the first few weeks. By the end of the second month of treatment, 80% of our members experience complete relief from symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. And while no medical provider can promise that every single symptom will go away completely, we promise to support you tirelessly on your journey to find the relief you need. In this post, we’ll explore what the first two months of that journey will look and feel like.
Joining Evernow
To kick things off, you’ll complete our online health profile. This comprehensive virtual consultation helps our medical team determine whether you’re an appropriate candidate for treatment on our platform. After all, every person has a unique medical history—and some of these histories require greater care and scrutiny (e.g. if you’ve had a hysterectomy or have an underlying medical condition). This evaluation process follows the guidelines of professional medical societies such as ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) and NAMS (North American Menopause Society).
If you qualify, you can join Evernow right away. You’ll get immediate access to our team of dedicated experts who understand the challenges of menopause. No question is too big or too small for our providers, and they’ll always answer you within 24 hours. You’ll also get unlimited access to our library of cutting-edge, doctor-approved menopause content.
The Treatment Experience
If you’re interested in getting treated for menopause symptoms, a medical provider will connect with you for an in-depth, one-on-one consultation. They’ll create a detailed treatment plan that’s tailored to your unique needs and may include hormonal or non-hormonal medications—sent to your pharmacy or your doorstep. Your provider will be there every step of the way to check your progress, make sure the treatment is right for you, and answer your questions quickly and compassionately.
We promise to support you on your journey to find the relief you need.
Week 1
You can begin your treatment as soon as you get your medication. Depending on your medical history and needs, you’ll either receive menopausal hormone therapy (estrogen and progesterone if needed) or non-hormonal therapy (a low dose SSRI or SNRI medication). Your treatment plan will include detailed instructions on how to take the medication.
We recommend messaging your provider to let them know when you begin treatment. If you have questions, you can ask them at any time. Your provider will be checking in with you this week to see how things are going. Most Evernow members begin to experience relief two to four weeks into treatment, so don’t be discouraged if you’re not feeling any changes right away.
Week 2
As your body adjusts to the treatment, you may notice some side effects. Don’t worry—these are normal and temporary. If you’re taking hormone therapy, that could mean breast soreness, headaches, bloating, and spotting. For SSRI/SNRI medications, side effects may include headache, fatigue, lethargy, nausea, constipation, or feeling agitated.
Here are a few tips for how to support your body at this stage:
- Stay healthy: Eating a healthy diet and staying hydrated are always a good idea—but especially so when your body is adjusting to a new medication.
- Sleep: Staying well-rested helps your body acclimate to the treatment and minimize side effects.
- Be patient with your body: Stay in touch with your Evernow provider if there are prolonged symptoms or bothersome side effects; they can help make adjustments early on in your treatment so that the transition is as manageable as possible.
Your Evernow provider will check in again this week. As always, we’re happy to address any questions you might have.
Week 3
The third week of treatment is when most people taking hormone therapy begin to experience noticeable relief from hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. If you’re taking SSRI/SNRI medications, you may also see results during this time or in the following week. As your menopause symptoms diminish, you’ll likely begin to experience better sleep and increased energy.
No improvement? It may take a bit longer to experience relief, so don’t be discouraged or prematurely conclude that the treatment isn’t working! Your provider will check in again this week, and can answer any questions or concerns you have about your treatment, symptoms, side effects, and your body’s adjustment period. They will also be happy to discuss any potential treatment modifications. Sometimes it does take a while to find the right dose for effective symptom reduction.
Week 4
Around week 4, most of our members are feeling relief from their symptoms. If your body is still adjusting to the treatment, we encourage you to be patient and give it a few more weeks to begin feeling like your old self. If you decide that you do not wish to continue, you can end your treatment via your account at any time (see our FAQ for more information). If you haven’t noticed improvement in your symptoms by the end of Week 4, your Evernow provider will work with you to modify your treatment plan.
Weeks 6-8
By week 6, your Evernow provider will have checked in with you several times to see how things are going. The majority of our members will have experienced noticeable improvement by now, but some may have two or three more weeks before they see full relief. Again, your Evernow provider will work with you to adjust your treatment if you still aren’t noticing improvement in your symptoms by the end of week six.
By eight weeks into treatment, odds are that you're feeling like yourself again. Even after your hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, or vaginal dryness subside, we’ll check in with you to see if there are any other symptoms, concerns, or side effects that might merit changes to your treatment plan.
By the end of the third month of your treatment, we expect that you will have fully adjusted to the medication and experience continuous relief from your symptoms.
Looking ahead
By the end of the third month of your treatment, we expect that you will have fully adjusted to the medication and experience continuous relief from your symptoms. Our hormone-based treatment plans are clinically proven to eliminate hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness in 80% of women, along with other symptoms. Our non-hormonal treatments are nearly as powerful, reducing hot flash symptoms by 65 percent in clinical trials.
Remember—we will be right beside you throughout this journey, ensuring that your treatment plan is working to help you feel your best. We'll offer occasional health guidance, like reminding you to stay current with your scheduled mammograms, and we will check in regularly to ensure your needs and concerns are being met.
Menopause can be a challenging time, but you don’t need to go it alone. We will reach out to you and you can always message us and expect a response within 24 hours. Evernow is here to be your partner—to give you thoughtful, dedicated, and science-driven support—for as long as you need us.
