Ellamarie Russo-DeMara, MD
I am a board-certified OB/GYN and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner with a strong commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. My practice ,of over 30 years, is deeply rooted in a holistic approach, ensuring that patients receive not only evidence-based medical treatment but also the support and education they need to make informed decisions about their health.
Having personally experienced early menopause due to chemotherapy for breast cancer, I bring a unique level of empathy to my work. I understand firsthand how hormonal changes can impact a woman’s quality of life, and I strive to offer up to date, compassionate, individualized care that addresses both physical and emotional well-being.
With my background in Osteopathic Medicine and extensive experience in menopause care since becoming certified in 2009, I focus on identifying and managing symptoms that affect daily life. I take pride in my ability to truly listen to my patients, translate complex medical information into understandable terms, and empower them to take charge of their health. Above all, I genuinely love taking care of people and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Why do you love working in women’s health?
I’ve been fascinated by women’s health for as long as I can remember. From an early age, I had an innate curiosity about how the female body works, and I wanted to understand the intricate systems that make women’s health unique. That curiosity only deepened as I pursued medicine, and I quickly realized that caring for women throughout the different stages of their lives was where my passion truly lay.
I was drawn to OB/GYN because it allows me to form meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients. Women’s health is complex and deeply personal, and I love being able to provide guidance, support, and solutions that truly improve quality of life. Whether it’s helping someone navigate reproductive health, pregnancy, or the challenges of menopause, I find it incredibly rewarding to empower women with knowledge and compassionate care.
What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends. My four children and two grandchildren bring so much joy to my life, and I truly treasure the moments I get to spend with them. The companionship of my two "fur babies" is something that I cherish every day—I’m an animal lover at heart!
I find peace and balance through yoga, which helps me stay grounded, and I love getting lost in a good book. The beach is my happy place, there’s nothing more rejuvenating than the sound of the waves and the salty ocean air. I hold dear the time I can spend with my lifelong friends, as those connections are so important to me.
Overall, I try to make time for the things that bring me joy, whether it’s relaxing by the ocean, practicing self-care, or simply enjoying meaningful conversations with the people I love.
