Cindy Krause, MD
I am board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as a wife and mother of 3 children. Born in Baltimore, I've been living in NYC since moving there for residency training. I started out in the private practice of obstetrics and gynecology, then became the Director of gynecology at the Women's Health Program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine., a center specializing in the interdisciplinary care of women. I later went back into private practice a few blocks away in NYC , caring for women of all ages but focussed on midlife health and menopause. I became a NAMS certified menopause practitioner in 2011 . In 2020, I began working with Evernow as a medical advisor and it has been a privilege to care for so many women of diverse backgrounds all over the U.S.
Specialty
FACOG, MSCP since 2011
Why do you love working in women’s health?
I have been drawn to women't health since I first started out in residency. My first 2 years of residency were in internal medicine , giving me a broad knowledge base and analytic approach. Ob-gyn draws from an intersection of specialties and this is especially true for women at midlife. I love caring for women at this complex crossroads in their lives and I'm so happy that menopause is starting to get the recognition it deserves. They are often dealing not only with menopause, but also other medical and life issues. I've been fortunate to care for many women over decades and often their daughters as well. It 's a challenging and extremely rewarding career.
What do you do outside of work?
Spending time with family, reading, going to theater, cooking.
